ABOUT ADVISOR TAX SERVICES
Advisor Tax Services is a 5 year old firm located in Stowe, Vermont. Owner Steve Cairns has been
preparing taxes and advising clients for over 12 years. In 2004, he passed a rigorous
2 day exam administered by the Internal Revenue service which qualified him to become an Enrolled Agent.
What is an Enrolled Agent ?
In 2005, Steve became a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor by passing a comprehensive certification test.
What is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor ?
He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the National Association of Tax Professionals
and is currently a director and Vice President of the Vermont Tax Practitioners Association.
Prior to opening his own business Steve managed 2 H&R Block offices in Vermont
for several years. For 3 years he taught their 11 week Basic Income Tax course plus several advanced courses.
Steve has
testified on tax policy before the Vermont House Ways and Means Committee. He is a graduate of Cornell University and
has a Master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
